Derrel Simpson is currently a Deputy Sheriff with the
Monterey County Sheriff’s Department where he is assigned to Special Operations
and is a S.W.A.T team member and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Prior to being
assigned to Special Operations Derrel was assigned to the Tactical Response Team
and the Narcotics Unit.
Derrel has twenty-five years of Martial Arts experience in
Kempo Karate, three years experience in Brazilian Jui Jitsu ground fighting and
in 1994 Derrel was the Gold Medal winner in the police summer games and first
place in the California State Karate Championships.
